Third Week: Teaching Practice

            Hi everyone! Welcome back to my SEA-Teacher story. In the previous post, I talked about an activity before teaching practice and it is teaching assistance. Now, I will tell about the teaching practice. My teaching practice was in Primary 6/2, M1/2 and also M2/2. In primary 6/1, I taught parts of body and doing exercise. In the previous meeting, Teacher Steve did teach the student the same material, so I what I did was doing review of the material. I prepared my lesson plan far before teaching practice and added a game for teaching practice. The game was adaptation from “Simon says Games” but I changed the name into “Teacher Says”. I used Power Point Media and some colored paper that were attached to the whiteboard. I did consult it to my cooperating teacher in Primary, teacher Ali. Second Week: Teaching Assistance

            Hi everyone! Welcome back to my SEA-Teacher story. In the previous post, I already explained about the first week activity which was Classroom observation and now I will explain about the second activity in this practicum, it is Teaching Assistance. Teaching Assistance is an activity which had to be done right before teaching practice. In this stage, I helped the teachers to encourage the students to understand the lesson taught by the teacher by explaining the material in a small group or one by one. For teaching assistance I followed Teacher Ali’s and Teacher Steve’s class and Teacher Beth’s class and did 20 times teaching assistance.             In teacher Ali’s and teacher Steve’s class, I helped them to repeat and explain the material that was already delivered to students. In Primary level, it was a must for the teacher to do repetition for the lesson and also instructions whenever students were asked to do an assignment. Even though there was a clear instruc

First Week: Classroom Observation

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my SEA-Teacher story. As I explained in the previous post, I did Orientation before starting to see real class teaching and here is the starting activity. The first activity that I had to do before Teaching Practice was Classroom Observation. Classroom Observation is an observation of teaching while it is taking place in a classroom or other learning environment. Observation is an important part of learning how to teach. Classroom observation describes the practice of sitting in on another teacher’s class to observe, learn and reflect. While doing Classroom Observation, I sat in the back of the class and examined various aspect in class, such as routines, use of time, schedule, participation, teaching strategies, management strategies and also students’ interest.   (Teacher Steve taught English in Primary 6/1) In this activity, I conducted the classroom observation in the level of Primary 5 and 6 with Teacher Ali and Teacher Steve and also Lowe
